FAQs

Every community is unique. Below you will find answers to many of the frequently asked questions about our services, activities, membership, and ways to get involved.

Questions about our worship

Where are the instruments?

When you walk in, you might be struck by the lack of musical instruments in our service. While the majority of our members are comfortable with the use of musical instruments in worship, we have chosen to honor the unique tradition of our church of Christ heritage by practicing a-cappella (voice only) worship in our assemblies. A-cappella worship is a unique experience that the church of Christ heritage brings to the broader Christian world, and we are proud to continue this tradition.

Many of our members participate in our praise team that leads our congregational singing each Sunday. Feel free to join us in singing praise to God. Though, if you would rather just listen, that’s okay too.

Can women lead?

While still uncommon in many churches of Christ, we encourage the participation of women in our public gatherings and in our leadership. We believe that all, regardless of gender, can participate and lead us in praising God.

Lord’s Supper / Communion?

Following the practice of the early church, we share the Lord’s Supper every Sunday. We partake of bread and grape juice, which are for God’s people the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We invite all who confess faith in Christ to partake with us.

As we share of the one bread, we become one body, the church. We partake of the Lord’s Supper in remembrance and celebration of the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord until he comes again.

Worship Service

10am

Our Sunday worship service is a time we gather together to praise God in song, lift up our prayers, share in communion, and hear from God’s word. Our worship service begins at 10 am and last approximately 1 hour. During our service all ages worship together, from the newborn to the gray hairs. We believe that all ages may learn from each other and grow with one another as we praise God together.

If you have little ones, know that we value their presence and believe they are an important part of our church. All children are welcome in our services, so don’t be embarrassed or feel the need to rush out if they make a little noise, we enjoy their ways of praising God too! If you do feel the need to step out or care for your children during the service, there is a quiet room with a changing table and supplies located at the back of the auditorium.

During the service there will be numerous songs sung in a-cappella style, prayers, a message from scripture, and a chance to partake of the Lords supper. The order of the service can be found in the bulletin to help you know what is coming next.
